Bayou Physical Therapy is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our growing team!

​

About Us:

 We are a friendly and collaborative small clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients in a warm and welcoming environment. We offer a variety of physical therapy services to cover our patient’s needs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide personalized treatment plans, assist patients in managing pain, and help them regain their independence. If you have excellent communication skills, a strong background in physical therapy, and a desire to make a positive impact on people's lives, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions and develop personalized treatment plans.

  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other modalities to improve patients' strength, range of motion, and mobility.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.

  • Educate patients and their families on effective self-care techniques and strategies for preventing future injuries.

  • Document all treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Monitor patients' progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and participate in continuing education activities.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

  • Valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.

  • Proven experience working as a Physical Therapist, preferably in an outpatient practice setting.

  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Empathy and compassion for patients' physical and emotional well-being.

  • Strong working knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Positive and patient-centered attitude.

  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) a plus.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

BE INDEPENDENT AGAIN

Occupational therapy helps our clients perform their activities of daily living as independently as possible. These activities range from self care tasks, to employment or school work requirements. Focusing primarily on shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands, occupational therapists help our clients live life to the fullest. Our OTs also educate and train caregivers on ways they can assist in the client's recovery if the need requires. The goal of occupational therapy is to help each client reach his or her maximum level of functional independence.

SPEECH THERAPY

THINK, SPEAK AND SWALLOW

Speech therapy does much more than simply teaching people how to speak again. Our Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate and treat speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders. They also provide training and education to family, caregivers and other treatment professionals. If you're having trouble speaking, swallowing, or using the correct words when you speak, then our team may be able to help you!

FALL RISK ASSESSMENTS AND 

CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT

We provide objective fall risk screenings to identify persons at risk of falling by comparing their balance test results to age-dependent normative data. For those identified to be at risk, we start them on a balance training program customized to their specific needs. Our custom protocols are designed to improve each individual's balance and safety with ambulation and thereby decrease their risk of falling.  


We are also equipped to provide concussion management services to high schools, college and professional sports teams to unravel the mystery of concussion by implementing best practices that combine cognitive testing and a quantifiable re-conditioning program.
